Insurance Coverage for Medical Wigs (Cranial Prosthesis)
Did you know that many insurance plans will cover part or all of the cost of a medical wig (cranial prosthesis) with a doctor’s prescription? We make the process simple by guiding you every step of the way.
📌 What You’ll Need

A doctor’s prescription for a “cranial prosthesis” (not just “wig”)

A Letter of Medical Necessity (depending on your insurance)

Your insurance card and policy information
📋 Steps to Get Reimbursed
1. Complete the Client Intake Form

Start here so we can collect your contact info, hair-loss details, and insurance plan information.
2. Book Your Virtual Consultation

After you submit the intake form, schedule your virtual consultation.

We’ll discuss your needs, head measurements, and insurance details.
3. Obtain Documentation

Get a prescription from your doctor (it must say “cranial prosthesis”).

We’ll provide a Superbill/Invoice and all supporting forms.
4. Submit to Insurance

You or your provider will submit the claim using HCPCS code A9282 – Cranial Prosthesis.
5. Receive Reimbursement

Many insurance plans cover 80–100 % of the cost.

You’ll receive payment directly from your insurance company.
